Terms & Conditions of Booking
WHY SHOULD I READ THIS?
Because it is important. This information forms the basis of a legally binding contract between you (the person making the booking and everyone else named) and us (CATS, Cats House, Old Newport Road, Bedwas, Caerphilly, CF83 8YB). Please take a few moments to read these notes and you will see that they set out in simple terms what responsibilities we each have under the contract. Reading this now may well help avoid later problems.
HOW DO I MAKE A CONTRACT WITH YOU?
It can be made in a number of ways—through your booking agent, by writing to us or by phoning us. The contract between us is made when your booking is entered on our computer and a
booking reference number is produced. At that moment the contract between us begins. We will usually send you a written confirmation within 10 days. Please check it carefully and ensure that all details are to your complete
satisfaction.
WHAT IF I HAVE ANY SPECIAL REQUESTS?
If you have any special requests for any service which is not included in the price of your holiday – such as easy access or special meals – you MUST tell us when you book and check that when you receive your booking confirmation that your request has been made. We will do our utmost to provide what you want but WE CANNOT GUARANTEE it. Some requests may involve extra charges and may be paid direct at your hotel.
DO I HAVE TO BUY YOUR INSURANCE?
No you can choose to buy your own insurance if you want. If you do so you MUST have insurance which is as good or better than the insurance we offer.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO PAY AND WHEN?
When you make your booking you must pay a deposit for every person named on the booking of £35.00 per person with the balance of all monies being paid on or before 9 (nine) weeks prior to your
departure.
If you book within the balance due date you MUST pay the total price of the
holiday plus any insurance premiums.
CAN CATS INCREASE THE PRICE AFTER THE CONTRACT HAS BEEN MADE?
Yes, but only in limited circumstances. The price of your holiday could be subject to surcharges on the following items: fuel, ferry operator fares, ferry operator
surcharges, or any government imposed increases such as an increase in VAT.
CAN I CHANGE MY HOLIDAY ONCE IT IS BOOKED?
Yes. If you want to make any changes to your booking, such as the date, room type or joining point we will do our utmost to help but we cannot guarantee to make the changes you want. We reserve the right to charge a fee to cover our admin costs, plus any additional charges if you are buying a more expensive holiday. The normal admin charges are £5.00 per
person subject to a maximum of £25.00 per booking form. If the changes are
significant however we will treat them as a cancellation and you must pay the
cancellation charges as set out below. Significant changes include transfer to a different holiday within the balance due date.
CAN I CANCEL MY HOLIDAY?
Yes. You may cancel your holiday at any time but if you do so you will have to pay CATS a cancellation fee based on the scale below. When you cancel you must inform CATS or your booking agent in writing signed by the person who made the booking. If only part of the booking is cancelled this may mean that the accommodation will be under occupied and may result in the remaining
passengers having to pay any applicable
supplements, e.g. changing a twin room to a single. Cancellation charges are based on the following scale:
More than: 63 days—deposit only
62 to 42 days—45% of the total cost
41 to 24 days—75% of the total cost
23 to departure day or later—total
holiday cost
(Your insurance may cover you against these costs.)
CHANGES BEFORE DEPARTURE.
If we have to make a significant change to your holiday before departure you will have the option of withdrawing from the holiday without any penalty.
A significant change is one that involves changing your date of departure, resort area or reducing the duration of your trip.
WHAT WILL YOU DO IF I AM DELAYED?
If you are delayed on our tours for more than 7 hours in any one day we will do our best to reduce any discomfort by providing refreshments where possible.
If the delay is caused by another carrier, such as a ferry operator, the responsibility may fall on them.
(Some insurance policies may cover such delays.)
PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
We are delighted to provide holidays for people with special needs. However, any disability MUST be highlighted at the time of booking with full details. You MUST also check that the booking
confirmation confirms your request.
PERSONAL INJURY UNCONNECTED WITH ARRANGEMENTS MADE BY US.
Where appropriate and subject to our
reasonable discretion we will offer
general assistance to clients who suffer illness or personal injury whilst travelling with us arising out of any activity which does not form part of our advertised tour. Any help provided will be limited to a maximum of £500.00 per booking form. We do reserve the right to invoice you upon your return from holiday for any financial assistance that we may have
offered.
HOW MUCH LUGGAGE CAN I TAKE?
Due to restricted space on our coaches we have to limit suitcases to (1) per person subject to a maximum weight of 14Kg per case. In addition (1) piece of hand
luggage can be taken on board the coach.
HOTEL FACILITIES.
The nature and frequency of facilities as
described in the hotel description is
offered by the hotel and is therefore not guaranteed, and could be withdrawn due to lack of demand or could be subject to breakdown or regular maintenance and repair.
